Research into an effective way to cut greenstone becomes a game changer for Matt Carter of NZ Dimensionz.

NZ Dimensionz are manufacturers and distributors of gifts and souvenirs, servicing the New Zealand, Australian and American retail markets. Owners Matt and Rosie Carter were looking for an effective way to cut greenstone; through their research they discovered that using water was going to provide the best results, so they began the hunt for a company who could supply a waterjet cutting machine.

“A lot of people just sell the machine, they don’t really know anything about it and don’t stock parts. Roadrunner are different. Initially Matt purchased an OMAX MAXIEM 0707 Waterjet to cut greenstone, but when the tourism market collapsed when COVID-19 hit our shores, it became the machine that saved their business. Matt was able to use the waterjet for other purposes, making garden ornaments and cutting metal for local engineers. Matt says,

“the waterjet is by far the most versatile machine we have, it cuts just about anything.”

Matt has been impressed with the whole process of engaging with Roadrunner, even when there have been bumps in the road.

“The Omax has had some minor issues along the way, just basic maintenance things really. It had a couple of leaks and we needed some replacement parts, but because Roadrunner keep a stock of parts and can fully service the machine, it wasn’t an issue at all.”
